Cardinal painted by Donna Cardoza
This site will be dedicated primarily to painting. Leatherwork will be added periodically. I have been a saddle maker since 1977 and painting since 1973. I love to paint and for the last several years I have been sharing my love for painting with my siblings. I will be sharing this blog with some of my sisters to display their work. Images may not be used or copied in any manner or for any purpose without my expressed written consent and permission.

"The Finale Curve"
I've been admiring different artists techniques to paint "loose." Here is my attempt at painting loose. I fought the urge to add more detail, fuss with....change this or that. I finally told myself to leave it alone. For most artists who paint "loose" they finish the piece in one sitting. This took me six. I hope you enjoy it.

The Traveling Painting
This is the first stage of the Burg Family Traveling Painting. At this time, no one knows it exists. I chose a branch originally so everyone could add a bird and then it occurred to me that it could be a family tree. That's sort of a stretch, so I think adding birds was a better idea. I hope my family will exercise their creative juices and express themselves in ways they didn't realize they knew how. They can change this in any way they want. I can't wait to see what they come up with. They are asked to sign on the back and to write their thoughts in the journal that will accompany the painting on it's journey. As the photos come in....hopefully in the order that paint has been added, I will post them to this blog.

Art per day, 1-31-11 Rockaway
Rockaway will be my finale submission for "Art per Day" this time around. I've enjoyed painting and drawing each day throughout January. I hope you have enjoyed viewing my Art per day. Perhaps in the future, I will be able to give this challenge another try. At the begining, when I challenged myself to do Art per Day for an entire year, I really had no idea what I was getting myself in for, or how fast the time would go and how many times I was in a crunch to get something posted. Please check back from time to time to see whats new. Thank you for checking in with me. Loretta
